The Executive Compass® team has recently expanded, with the addition of two new Bid Writers, Charlotte and Sam, enabling the company to assist even more clients to bid successfully for contracts.
Pre-qualification questionnaires and invitation to tender documents come in a variety of shapes and sizes, for contracts ranging from smaller values to millions of pounds. Our new members of staff have joined at a busy and exciting time for the firm, and have therefore been able to experience a wide variety of clients and contracts so far. At any given time, our team of bid writers are working on approximately 25-40 bid submissions, which can take anywhere from half a day to six months to complete – no two responses are the same. It is a very fast paced environment, as Charlotte and Sam have already experienced in their first month with the company.
Responding to PQQs and Tenders
Charlotte and Sam have received in-house training from MD, Neil Capstick, and General Manager, Matthew Walker, to develop their bid writing skills and learn the Executive Compass® proven bid processes and procedures. The team has a stringent quality management process in place, whereby all bid submissions are quality reviewed by a Director and proofread. This is something which the new employees will also play a part in, and it is integral to the high success rates achieved.
Over the past month, Charlotte and Sam have assisted on a number of PQQs and ITTs, primarily supporting more senior bid writers with ongoing projects. Examples include a tunnel ventilation PQQ for a London rail contract, a domiciliary care contract, a bid ready project for a pharmaceutical company, a PQQ for local tree surgery works and a new build construction framework ITT. Combined knowledge and expertise from the team means it is unlikely that there is a question which we have not been faced with in the past and it is all about applying the bid writing process to the specific industry and company, using an evidence-based approach.
The company has a high level of repeat business, so our new employees are also getting to grips with the large client base and variety of industries we regularly complete bids for. Health and social care, construction, grounds maintenance and asbestos are amongst the industries we frequently work in and Charlotte and Sam have been developing their understanding of the differences across these sectors. Certifications, policies and procedures and legislative requirements vary from industry to industry and it is important to be aware of these and any possible changes which could affect the procurement process.
Win More Contracts
As the new members of the team progress and develop their skills, they will be supporting the growing number of clients seeking external support for public and private sector contracts. At Executive Compass® our main objective is to help companies win more contracts!
