We are looking for a Senior Chassis Project Engineer for Wuhan, China
This position is a key position with the project engineering team at the Wuhan plant and requires a senior engineer with the ability to progress quickly to Manager level.

Tasks for department head ‘project engineering’
- Lead the project engineering department for local passenger car chassis production
- Development of passenger car chassis solutions as a part of an international development group across China, Europe and America
- Finalise CAx chassis solutions according to applicability of local resources and customer demand
- Design tooling for press parts, draft & design welding and assembly processes for production
- Determine bought-out-parts for production and create material lists
- Support production and quality team
- Design solutions for customers, write customer presentations and support our sales team
- Communicate pro-actively with our customers, suppliers, partners and global development teams
- Lead the local project engineering team and develop a CAx center for China
Profile of Candidates
- Mechanical engineering university degree, preferably specialized in passenger car designs, practical experience in manufacturing or automotive welcome
- Good experience in process design, prototype parts, production and project planning with specific knowledge of pressings and welding technology preferable in the automotive/chassis industry.
- Excellent capacity in the area of CAx
- Multiple years of work experience in international engineering and development projects (work experience in China is a plus)
- Excellent knowledge about steel, press parts and tooling and welding
- Strong communicator, teamplayer
- Good in managing people of different backgrounds, responsible manager who advocates the team’s development
- Languages: Fluent English (German and Chinese is an advantage)
- Permanent Full time role £45 to £50k (contractor would be considered)
