Affordable housing construction firm Wates Living Space has agreed £400 million of framework contracts with supported housing providers.

The company has been appointed to a £250 million framework for Housing 21, and a £150 million agreement with Hanover housing association.

Both agreements start immediately and cover a four-year period. They will deliver predominantly new build extra care, retirement and older people’s accommodation in England.

David Stanley, supported living business director for Wates, said: ‘We are delighted to have secured a position on both of these national frameworks. We will work collaboratively, be creative and drive for sustainable efficiency, as well as keeping a keen focus on residents’ needs.’

Perry Scott, head of procurement at Hanover, said: ‘This design and build framework will support the Hanover build programme of four to six extra care schemes per annum and 1,000 retirement housing units.’

In a separate announcement, Wates Living Space has also agreed a partnership with Nationwide for public finance initiative schemes.

Nationwide will act as the lead funder for each of the housing PFI bids Wates is taking forward for the upcoming round of the housing PFI.
