Rise in Management Recruitment

A survey has found that recruitment for managerial positions is on the rise across the world.

International firm Antal found that in a poll of 6,151 companies in major employment markets, over half (53 per cent) were actively recruiting.

In addition, the percentage of organisations planning to hire in the next quarter was even higher at 55 per cent.

The UK was the most thriving employment market with 59 per cent of employers currently advertising positions for staff, with France (55 per cent) and Germany (51 per cent) closely following.

Sectors currently recruiting in great numbers despite the tough economic climate included the pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, engineering, IT software and banking industries.

Chief executive officer at the firm Tony Goodwin said: "We are already seeing the first clear signs of organisations thinking in terms of the 'war for talent' once more with more robust businesses making early moves to snap up the best people in their markets before general recovery becomes too apparent."
