ONE person was killed and another seriously injured last night when they got out of a crashed car and were hit by a lorry on the A1.
The accident happened on the northbound carriageway of the A1, one mile north of its junction with the A66, at about 10.30pm on Wednesday.
It is believed the pair's car lost control in the snow and hit the central reservation.
