Bids are being invited for the latest stage of a multi-million pound project to upgrade the A9.The Scottish Government has issued the tender notice for work to deliver an additional length of dual carriageway north of Crubenmore.
In November, a 39-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man died after a three-car crash on this section of the road.

Transport minister Stewart Stevenson said the project would bring "significant benefits".
Almost two miles of dual carriageway will be constructed to provide improved overtaking opportunities on the stretch of the A9, to the north of Crubenmore.

The tender process is expected to be concluded by autumn this year and the work finished by late 2011.
